Tighnablair Training Area

The Tighnablair Training Area was used by the personnel accommodated by the Cultybraggan Training Camp, and was leased from Drummond Estates.

The training area covered some 12,000 acres (4,900 hectares), and provided numerous form of training, other than heavy armour, including live firing, dry training, helicopter operations. Training in cross-country driving was given at Cambusbarron, near Stirling. Adventure training was conducted at Bennybeg Crags, Lednock Dam and on Loch Earn. An associated Royal Engineers watermanship and bridging camp was also located in Drip Road near Stirling, but was demolished in 2006.
