Thistle Television
Thistle Television, previously known as Lanarkshire TV, was a local television broadcasting to the Lanarkshire area of Central Scotland
Content on Lanarkshire TV included a talent show called Talented Lanarkshire, a quiz night from Lanark Grammar School, and a local constable appealing for witnesses in a programme described as a small-scale version of Crimewatch.
Lanarkshire TV was replaced by Thistle Television, which broadcast to a wider catchment area and interspersed this local material with Sky News and the QVC shopping channel. Like almost all the more recent local channels, it failed to attract enough investors or advertisers and stopped broadcasting in 2005.⚠ [^The bizarre world of 1970s hyper-local TV Retrieved September 07, 2013.^]
