AA Battery Wester Balmuidy
A World War II anti-aircraft battery was sited near Cadder, Glasgow, west of Balmore Road. Site number GNG3 (early), N3 (late). Part of the Clyde AA Defences, the battery was known as Wester Balmuidy or Blackhil.
The battery was equipped with four emplacements, reported to have been armed with 3.7-inch guns, and had an accommodation camp nearby.
The Bishopbriggs Magazine site lies some 500 metres northeast.
The original site has been obscured by an industrial development. An earlier report indicated there may have been some remains of the battery within the site, but their survival seems unlikely on an industrial site.
