Wemyss Bay Searchlight Battery

The location of a World War II searchlight battery has been reported in Thomson's field, Wemyss Bay. The battery is said to have been set up near what was then the Smithy at the north end of the village.^[1]

This searchlight battery is assumed to have been installed to work in conjunction with the nearby Wemyss Bay Anti-Aircraft Battery.

There are no remains of the original site, which has since been developed for housing and lies under Forbes Place.
