Boghead Rows

⚠ (:tracetrails:)

Boghead Rows was a small mining village which lay about 3 miles (5 km) south of Hamilton.

Past Limkilnburn, at a crossroad junction, the A723 continues south towards Strathaven, and east to Quarter. To the west, a single track road with a No Through Road sign is said to lead to the site of an abandoned mining village. At the end of a section of tarmac road, the route continues into the fields, and on to a tree lined area on the left, concealing the site.

This description would appear to lead to the lost site of Boghead Rows.

Present on maps from the 1860s, the village was outlined, but unnamed, on maps from around the turn of the century onward.
