Sherbrooke House Glasgow
During World War II, Sherbrooke House, in Pollokshields to the south of Glasgow, was requisitioned and used as a training school for radio mechanics specialising in radar.
Built in 1896, the house is a large, two storey villa with a tall, thin tower to the northeast. The interior has a grand central stair which is lit from above through stained glass panels. A category B listed building since February 1990, the house has been developed as the Sherbrooke Castle Hotel, 11 Sherbrooke Avenue, a luxury hotel offering 14 well appointed rooms.
