RAF Kirkton
RAF Kirkton was a World War II airfield which served as a dispersal airfield for RAF Kinloss.
All we are aware of:
No. 41 Satellite Landing Ground, Kirkton, Golspie
Location: Kirkton Farm, 2 miles South of Golspie
OS Ref: NH 805 985
Purpose: Dispersal Airfield used by 45 Maintenance Unit, Kinloss
Opened: 24.8.1941
Closed: 4.5.1945 (Last used February 1945)
Present Condition: Returned to farm use. Several disused brick airfield buildings still standing.
Notes: Used for storage of Whitleys, Spitfires, Havocs, and Wellingtons from Kinloss. In March 1943, 70 aircraft were recorded as being stored on the site.

In 1983, a record was made of a watch house (bungalow) on the site, together with some other remaining buildings, but by 2000, a further report indicated that the watch house had been demolished and a new house had been built on the site.
