Naval Establishment List 1946
On January 21, 1947, Hansard records the following question and reply in: Written Answers (Commons):
Lieut.-Commander Hutchison
asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will give a complete list of the naval bases, dockyards, harbours, training establishments, hospitals, armament depots, stores departments, fuelling stations, naval air stations and other naval establishments owned or administered by his Department in Scotland, distinguishing between those which are in use, those which are on a care and maintenance basis and those which are earmarked for disposal.
Mr. W. Edwards
Apart from a few establishments which it would not be in the public interest to specify, I append a list of naval establishments now in use in Scotland and also a list indicating those which are on care and maintenance. It is not possible, however, at the present time to indicate which establishments in these lists may eventually be redundant to Admiralty requirements.
