Loch Ewe POL Depot
Loch Ewe is the site of a Scottish NATO POL Depot (SNPD), located to the south of Aultbea, on the eastern shore of the loch.
One of three similar depots located in Scotland, and formerly known simply as POL (Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants) depots. The others are at Campbeltown Loch and Loch Striven
Z-Berth
The loch is also a designated Z-Berth which has been in use since 1963. with two mooring points. One is located at the depot, while the other is located at the A1 buoy.
