Humbles Café Bar Helensburgh
Humbles Café Bar lies in Colquhoun Square in the town of Helensburgh on the Clyde coast.
Owners and founders Michael and Katherine McPartland retired in 2013, passing the café onto new owners, after 18 years of running their business.
Their claim to fame is that they were the first to put tables and chairs outside their café, which led to an ongoing story which lasted for some 18 weeks in the local paper, the Helensburgh Advertiser, while locals and police came to terms with the daring move.
However, the couple prevailed, setting a trend in outside dining which other delis and coffee houses in the area soon followed.⚠ [^Full story: The end of an era as Helensburgh cafe owners step down | This Week | News | Helensburgh Advertiser Retrieved August 21, 2013.^]
