Portree cadet hall was built in 1989/1990 for the Queen's Own Highlanders detachment, now 4 RRS The Highlanders, only has one annexe, at the end of the indoor shooting range which is down two pipes and suitable for .22 rifles. I was a cadet there after the old drill hall was knocked down in 1988 to make way for Highland Council buildings in Park Road. (Via 2017 email [email protected])

Lovat’s Scouts took over in 1903 and added stables, riding school & nearby practice ground. Interior then adapted. In 1880 base for K Coy, Inverness-shire Rifle Vols.
