Cramond Decoy
Record indicate that a World War II Civil Starfish Decoy site was located near Cramond, to the north west of Edinburgh, at the west end of Marine Drive.
Visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941, the site was described as triangular in appearance, with a number of baskets where controlled fires would have set, and a nearby control bunker, which would have housed an electricity generator. A small wooded area remains at the end of the road, however there are no surviving remains recorded.
This decoy may have been associated with the nearby Silverknowes Decoy AA Battery, sited on the golf course to the east.
