Craigowl Hill Dundee
Craigowl Hill, Dundee, is the site of a number of masts, microwave relays, and radio stations.
The installations at the top of Craigowl Hill are said to have provided intelligence gathering facilities for the US National Security Agency (NSA) from 1983, and may still be serving the same purpose. Secret operations at the site were said to have been reported in 1980s, with no official denial, and further links claimed to exist with the ground station at Menwith Hill, Yorkshire.
Menwith Hill was described as The largest electronic monitoring station in the world in a BBC News article on November 25, 2007, regarding the utilisation of facilities at the RAF base to host a tracking system linked to US satellites and interceptor missiles based outside the UK.
