Balrossie mast lies to the southeast of Balrossie School, approximately one mile west of Kilmacolm.

The single mast lies in a fenced compound together with a number of small buildings housing the related communication equipment.

The site has been reported to have been used by the MoD and been associated with the buildings at the nearby Kilmacolm decontamination centre, to the east.
