AA Battery Rosskeen
A World War II anti-aircraft battery was sited at Rosskeen, on the north side of the B817 road west of Invergordon on the Cromarty Firth. Site number ING2.
The battery was equipped with four emplacements, armed with 3.7-inch guns, and a command post, with an accommodation camp occupying land both to the north and the south, visible on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1946.
Only the command post remains on the site, with no evidence of the emplacements or camp visible in the ploughed field. The command post is of Type B and is slightly unusual in that a small brick fireplace has been reported inside the post.
