A fully intact air raid shelter still exists! It is shown as a "brown" patch in the north/north-east corner of the photo almost midway between the two red pointers. A path is also visible in the photo. It still had fully intact steel doors when I was last there around 10 years ago. Back then it had hardly been visited by vandals. Very atmospheric!
Following his return from the Middle East,(1945/6.) my father, Flt/Lt George A. Warden was adjutent of the BishopBriggs R.A.F Station. We lived in King's Park, Glasgow amd he went to work as though going 'to the office' each day.
Does anyone have a relative that also served there during that time? Somewhere I have a staff photpgraph of the whole staff at the time. Is there any interest in receiving a copy of this photo. Please let me know. Thanks. Frank Warden, [email protected]
