Nice little offering using Yahoo technology: GeoMakerBasically rips all the locations mentioned in a web page, finds them, offers you the option of showing them on a map, then shows you the map and gives you the code to paste in your own web page if you're a developer, and have a developer ID to access Yahoo mapping of course. It's quite a good idea, especially if you're faced with a page of stuff you're interested in, and the writer has assumed you know where all the places referred to in the text are located around the country, or the world for that matter. I'm afraid it's not a lot help for SeSco page - but they've usually got a detailed Google map anyway - because the links to other pages generally have place names in them, so GeoMakers catches these, and plots them along with those in the page text. Overcome this simply by copying and pasting the page text into GeoMaker, rather than using the url option. |
