Camp 165 has been mentioned relatively often in public, thanks to the release of various publications in the past.

However, something odd happened on Tuesday, June 29, when we received hundreds of additional page views.

There doesn't seem to have been any reason for this, and I wondered if anyone else had noticed if there had been some publicity or story released about the camp at the start of the week.

There was a story about it in the online edition of The Sun the other day:-

Well done...

I have to salute the sacrifice and risks taken by those willing to risk their lives and venture into territory such as that occupied by The Sun.

It's rather like Hideo Nakata’s Japanese original (a film called just Ring), a terrifying psychological thriller about teenagers who die shortly after they watch a video.

The article even manages to reinforce the Sun stereotype, and opens by comparing Watten to Guantanamo, and the comments do little to endear one to the stereotypical sun reader.

Still, at least we now know why the web was buzzing around Camp 165 Watten on the 29th.

Incidentally, the access logs also confirm the stereotypical Sun reader's short attention span - as there were no increases in activity the day after, or since!

I have to admit that someone else posted it on ww2f.com for my attention. Only reason I know it wasn't in the printed edition was because I went round the shop and looked!
I can still hear the wife's words of wisdom as I left. "Don't you dare bring the effing Sun into my house!!!"
And she wasn't kidding either......

My best advice historian is to stick to that story.

I see you can now get stats on your pictures on Photobucket.  My pic of the Bayleaf and the SNPOL Depot in Loch Striven has had nearly 700 hits over the last few days, the vast majority via SeSco.  However 4 were from " Other Sites" which is a bit of a mystery!

Strange result...

Bayleaf doesn't get a mention anywhere in SeSco.

Other Sites just means the referring source declined to identify itself to the stat gatherer, maybe down to a firewall, or the site simply refuses such requests.
