Having never even heard of a reference to Bamse until a few weeks ago, now we have the BBC filming a feature in Montrose not longer after we gave the dog a page in the Wiki.

Good job our items carry the date in the page history, and we can say we mentioned him first!
Quoted Text
The BBC have been filming in Montrose to highlight the story of sea dog Bamse and the events which will mark the anniversary of his death.

Comedian Fred MacAulay was filming all day in the town last Wednesday (June 25) for his current series ‘On the Road’, which flags up-coming events throughout Scotland over the summer.

The show will to highlight the free 70th anniversary commemoration and celebration event of Bamse, who is buried in Montrose, which is happening at Wharf Street by the dog’s statue on Monday, July 21

Fred spent time filming by the statue and in Links Park with a group of St Bernard dogs from the St Bernard Club of Scotland, who had come from all over the country.

The programme will be aired on Monday, July 7 or Monday July, 14 in advance of event on July 21, which starts at 10 a.m. on Wharf Street.
