Information sought.

Does anyone have any information on the Fleet Visit to Invergordon in 1957?

Does anybody know which year the US 6th Fleet visited the Clyde?   I remember seeing it but have no photographs and no way of recalling which year it was.

The USS George Washington circa 1967/8 springs to my mind. G.T.

No the event I am recalling was much earlier and the whole fleet was involved.   There were US ships at anchor all over the Tail of the Bank.  I think it might have been 1957 along with the Invergordon visit.    Was 1957 the year Khrushchev famously banged hi shoe on the UN desk?

Anybody else experiencing minute font size here?    If it gets any smaller I'll need a microscope!
